The Hare and The Tortoise

I created this piece for a class assignment in which we had to illustrate one of Aesop's Fables in ink. I chose "The Hare and the Tortoise" and created ten initial thumbnails, and spent some time exploring different shape languages for the characters of the animals. I chose cross hatching in ink because I believe it gives the piece the feeling of a traditional, older children's book illustration.

My drawing was displayed in an art gallery at my college where the pieces shown were selected by a visiting artist. This was a great accomplishment for me personally!
